Still living on Dewing Highway and married to Larry DeRosier since 8-21-1971.  We have two sons, three grandsons and one granddaughter ~ ages 16,13, 8 and 4.  I have been working at Mills Ford since October 2011.  I worked at The Fort Steakhouse for 30 years prior to that. I enjoy fishing both summer and winter, snowmobiling and gardening.  We enjoy watching the grandkids, crafting and being at home.

I currently reside in Washington State (near Tacoma) where I've lived since 1979.  After a 34-year absence from school, I returned to college in 2006.  I graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, fulfilling a life-long dream.  I've always loved school, and I had the time of my life!  I hope to continue on with my studies and pursue graduate school in the future.  In the meantime, however, I'm currently taking a break as my husband prepares to retire from his job this summer.

I've been married to my awesome husband, Bob, for 27 years.  We don't have any children, but a steady progression of pets continues to serve as "surrogate kids.”  Bob and I enjoy traveling.  Over the years we've had the privilege of visiting China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, England, and Israel.  We especially enjoy taking day trips to visit the many beautiful, scenic sites that our own Washington State has to offer--everything from a rain forest to the Pacific Ocean to two majestic mountain ranges.  Other activities I enjoy include ministry-related projects, organic gardening, collecting carnival glass, and spending time with family and friends.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend our class reunion in July.  What fun it was to connect with classmates and old friends after 40 years!  I also got in on the group picture with other classmates from my elementary school, St. Francis of Assisi.  I do hope we get to do a 45th reunion celebration.

Cort Ekstrom Larson   Cort Lee Larson, age 51, of Sarasota, FL, died Feb. 3, 2006. His free spirit and heart of gold will be missed by his partner of 24 years, Stephen Garner. He is survived by his parents, Luella and Ed Doyle; grandmother, Arlone Larson; sister, Brenda Davis; and brother, Bryce Ekstrom. Cort's extended family included Ruby Garner, Sue and Al Eklund, Bill and Leigh Ann Garner and Alisha and Ryan Tack. Born in Fargo, ND on May 27, 1954, Cort was an immediate love of his maternal grandparents, Roy and Arlone Larson, who helped raise him for many years in Brainerd, MN. An avid swimmer who loved sailing during his youth, Cort then turned to his artistic touch, building a successful career in the hairstyling world while living in Brainerd, MN, St. Paul, MN and Chicago, IL. His many joys included a love for animals, cooking and playing bridge. A most special time of year to Cort was in December, when he could spend weeks decorating his home in anticipation of Christmas. Memorial gifts would be appreciated and sent to First Step, a substance abuse rehabilitation center, 1970 Main Street, 5th Floor, Sarasota, FL 34236.
Memorial Service 4 p.m. Feb. 10 at Toale Brothers Funeral Chapel, 6903 S. Tamiami, Sarasota, FL.

Served 8 years active duty U.S. Navy (1972 – 1980) Served 2 tours during Vietnam, the last tour our ship assisted with the evacuation.  Enlisted into the MN Army National Guard Sep 1980 and I am still a member.  I have been activated to assist with troop and unit deployments and redeployments since Apr 2011 and will remain in this capacity until I retire in 1 year and 9 months.  I retired from Federal Civil Service April 2011 after nearly 40 years.

I married Robin (Boeder – Class of 75) England Feb 8th, 1975 and we will be celebrating our 38th anniversary this coming February.  My son (Cameron) was born November 1978 and my daughter (Heather) was born April 1982.  I have 5 grandchildren; 4 girls and 1 boy.  They all reside very close to us!

We have lived in San Pedro, Chula Vista, and Long Beach while I was in the Navy in California.  We lived in New Brighton, Brooklyn Park, Brainerd, White Bear Lake and now Hugo, MN since then.  We have managed to buy a small cabin on South Long Lake just south of Brainerd and enjoy our time there when in the Brainerd area.

We enjoy walking, spending time on the pontoon, vacations to Cancun, Bahamas, Mexico, Florida, and reuniting with friends from my Navy days in California.  I sponsor and coach a Co-ed softball team.  I did play, however, have stepped down and now coach the kids of the players who helped me start the team more than 20 years ago.  Time does fly by and those kids sure grew up quick!  I sing in a Men’s Choir and the church Chancel Choir.  I am currently serving on the Board of Elders.  Robin retired from her insurance position after the big down-sizing a couple of years ago.  She is now working from home.  She is an Area Manager with Arbonne International, a health and wellness company.  She is doing very well and doesn’t regret leaving her insurance career.

I made the 10 and 20 year reunion and regret missing the last two.  Look forward to the next Class of 72 get together.
